Well, I guess I didn't post more often than before.
I still haven't found a way to merge my old blog with this one.
Just so you know, I have become addicted to Downton Abbey, Scandal, House of Cards, and Orange is the New Black. Two of these series demonstrate a new way of watching TV. One that despite the fact that I turned 60 on my birthday, I think I could get used to. It's called binge watching. The two Netflix series, House and Orange, are designed for binge watching. They are released to the public a whole season at a time. House was recently released and I watched five episodes in one weekend. I do have a few more episodes to watch.
Right now I'm watching Scandal. I really like the show but at times I find the speed-talking of all the actors annoying. There are times that I may as well be watching a show in a foreign language with sub-titles.
Downton and Scandal, as opposed to the Netflix series, are rolled out one episode at a time. I watch a season and then anxiously await the next season for weeks. Strange how being addicted to these series affects the passage of time. It makes time passage very unnatural . . . in different ways. The shows that are unfurled one episode at a time probably not be different than tne multi-furled episodes if I had a DVR. I don't have a VCR, either. And I won't get one because VHS tapes are so bulky that I don't want them. It took me many years after I no longer had a way to play them, to get rid of my 12 inch LPs. But I did get rid of them, but for me those LPs went away and VHS tapes and cassette tapes went away with them. Good thing I never got eight-tracks . . .
Orange, right now, is out of sight and therefore out of mind. so I don't have much to say about it.
And Downton just ended its season. This season didn't end with a horrible tragedy. It even ended with some happy stuff. So who knows how the new season will begin?
